Eli's 1965 Dodge Dart Charger convertible: First Showing

Post by 69_RAG_TOP on Sat Sep 25, 2010 8:22 pm

A young man named Eli who lives in southeastern Connecticut and is a regular at all of the car shows and cruises.

He is unique because he has terminal cancer and has less than a year to live. Eli is a friendly young man who is quick to approach you at a car show and ask you questions about your car. He has never looked for sympathy and never complains about his health. He focuses on living his life for what he has yet to do.

He has been an automotive enthusiast all of his life and once owned a Pontiac GTO at one time but sold it when his daughter was born. Recently he purchased a 1965 Dodge Dart 270 convertible from a man who's father died from cancer. The man told Eli that it was his father's wish that someone restore the car.

Eli visited the Carlisle Mopar Show in July and a group of Mopar guys including Mopars in Motion Club sponsored parts, labor and materials for Eli's car restoration.

Last Saturday Eli was at the Enfield car dealership where the car was unveiled for the first time.

This is the video from you tube: ELI HAS CANCER AND MANY PEOPLE DID THIS CAR OVER FOR HIM , MOPARS IN MOTION , 71WINGCARS.COM , MOPARS AR CARLILSE , AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE.... THANK YOU AGAIN EVEYONE WHO HELPED.

Thanks Rick.

This is Eli's story and the reveal of his dream car.

I am sure you all have seen ABCs Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Well this story is Eli's Extreme Makeover: Automobile Edition.

Last Saturday Eli was at the Enfield car dealership where the car was unveiled for the first time. It was a surprise since Eli had not seen the car during the restoration and did not know what to expect. Eli was speechless. The expression on his face tells the whole story.

Nice to see this young man so happy.
