What is the best line from a movie, ever?

Post by Steve on Sun Aug 29, 2010 11:13 pm

I nominate the following:

"In case you're not up on current events we just got our a$$es kicked pal!" Aliens 1986
Said to a group of men playing cards: "You guys playing cards?" Flounder in Animal House
"Go ahead, make my day." Sudeen Imapct (Dirty Harry)
"We're gonna stop at a choke and puke, get some go-go juice and put some groceries down our necks." (consolidated from two lines) Smokey and the Bandit
"Houston, we have a problem." Apollo 13
Striker: "Surely you can't be serious!" Rumack: "I am serious... and don't call me Shirley." Airplane
"I'll be back.' The Terminator
"If she was in the army, she would be Major Babe." Wayne's World
“I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!” Network
“I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.” The Godfather
"If Pluto's a dog, then what's Goofy?" Stand by Me
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning." Apocalypse Now

This one probably doesn't deserve the "best" honors but it should be mentioned. Very Happy

My favorite is Arnold Schwarzenegger from Terminator "I'll be back"

Runners up:

"They're coming to get you, Barbra." Night of the Living Dead (1968)

"You finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! God damn you! God damn you all to hell!" Planet of the Apes (1968)

"Say 'hello' to my little friend!" Scarface (1983)

"Goooood morning, Vietnam!" Good Morning, Vietnam (1987)

"If you build it, he will come." Field of Dreams (1989)

"A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." Silence of the Lambs (1991)

"You want answers?" - "I think I'm entitled." - "You want answers?" - "I want the truth!" - "You can't handle the truth!" A Few Good men (1992)

"Are you crying? There's no crying! There's no crying in baseball!" A League of Their Own (1992)

"Mama says, 'Stupid is as stupid does.'" Forrest Gump (1994)

"I see dead people." The Sixth Sense (1999)

The list really is endless, but these are a few favorites that I think think of right now.

"get busy living, or get busy dying" Shawshank Redemption.

(in a whisper to a native) "you balls are showing" Ace Ventura.

"come out to the coast, get together, have a few laughs" Bruce Willis in Die Hard while in a heating vent holding a zippo.
