Panera bread July 17, 2010

Post by mr71transam on Sun Jul 18, 2010 8:53 am

We were competing with Fireworks in two of the local towns and the VERY Hot Temperatures. But still not a Bad cruise. Well that is until the sky opened up and hit us with a 5 minute down pore. To Jim, Brian, and David who left early you missed one on nature’s best car wash. I wish I could have taken pictures of everyone running to close their windows and find cover. When you looked up to the sky you could see that all the clouds had moved to the North and the SUN was coming out. Everyone was joking about how bad it looked over Hartford. The really Bad part was the DJ's equipment really got WET before we had a chance to cover everything up. Hopefully he was able to dry everything out because he had another event the next day Sunday July 18th.

Here are some of the pictures before the Rain.

Hey Rick,

Actually, I didn't miss it. I made it as far as the Putnam bridge and the sky opened up.
I poured so hard I had to pull over. I have a LOT of spot removal to do before tonights
gathering. YOu were right though, as it was pouring, I could see the sun as bright as day
to the left of me. See you at the next one.

I was working in Rhode Island on Saturday and got home later in the afternoon.

Thank God I decided to take the hardtop car and drive the 1978 Trans Am to go to the cruise at 5:00 PM last night because as soon as I was driving up Route 2 just before Colchester I ran into heavy driving rain and had to pull off the exit.

I waited 5 minutes in the pouring rain and decided to come back home.

If I had taken the 1969 convertible, I would have been pretty pissed off since I hate removing the carpets to dry it out...lol
