A new member to the board!
Hey gang,
Just thought I would pop in and say hello.
In talking with Rick H. at the Panera Bread show tonight (June 19th), He
mentioned that he had started the forum here and I thought I would sign
up and join in on the fun.
Some of you have probably seen my car out here and there. I have the 1982
Trans Am that has been done over to look like the K.I.T.T. car from Knight Rider.
I don't get to attend a lot of shows due to my work schedule but I have been
trying to get to as many as I can as time and money allows.
I just want to say I enjoy attending your shows, seeing the cars and meeting the
owners. I hope to see you all at further gatherings.
In the mean time, Enjoy your cars!

Welcome to the Charter Oak Firebirds Board Brian.
Good to have another third gen Trans Am as well as a Knight Rider car here.
I am not sure if I met you at the cruises yet, but post up a few photos of the car.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Here are a few quick pictures from a photo shoot we did last year. I'll try and get
a gallery of images posted in the near future.

Wow... quite a transformation of the plain Firebird.
Is the car a 1984 Firebird?

Re: A new member to the board!
The car is a 1982 Trans Am. I purchased it back in the summer of 1999. The car had
13526 original miles on it when I took it home. It now sits with about 30500. 4 years
ago, I had to install a new engine as the old one had many problems with it. It would
over heat constantly blow head gaskets like crazy. No one I took it too could figure
out why.
Finally, after the crank had broken on me, I decided to replace the whole engine. It
was at that point, they discovered that there was a large mouse nest in my Catalytic
converter which was forcing all the back pressure into my engine. I still get the
occasional overheating issues on really hot days but no further engine troubles have
surfaced. I do get paranoid about it breaking down so I have limited myself on any
long road trips. Once I am more confident that it will make an extended road trip, I
may branch out further to other shows so I can share in showing the car.
People do get really excited when they see it which makes me feel good about having
taken the time and effort in building a project like this. I have had those who have
ridiculed me for building such a stupid car but when I asked to show me thier ride, they
tend to just walk away. Oh well........
Again, I appreciate the welcome to the board and am happy to attend your events as they are always a good time.
