What brand of car battery will you buy next?
Based on cost, reputation, warranty, experience, power and value, if you need a car battery for your vehicle, what will be the most likely brand?

The last two have been DieHards. But I believe I'll be changing brands soon. I'll see what everyone else uses and Likes.

It will deffinately be an Optima red top. From what I've heard and red this is the best one for drastic weather changes
Hot to cold to hot etc. Keeps and holds a charge for ever!!!

Re: What brand of car battery will you buy next?
In the last five years I have purchased a Diehard, two Walmart Everlast, one Autozone DuraStart and one Advance Auto Parts Silver battery for all of my family daily drivers and one of my Trans Ams.
The $109.99 Diehard was the first to go...about 2 or 3 years old.
The $69.95 Walmart battery in my sons car died after 3 1/2 years but in all fairness he left the lights on a few times and sapped the battery dead.
The $69.95 Walmart battery in my daughters car is 5 years old and still working.
The $79.95 DuraStart battery is still cranking and the $89.95 Advance Auto Silver battery was still running for 3 years when we sold the Saturn last January.
I have to add that it will make a difference in what type of car you have. Of the five batteries that I bought, three cars were 4 cylinders, 1 was a V6 and the DuraStart went into a 350 V8 Trans Am. If you have small 4 cylinder cars, then you can get away with the inexpensive batteries.
If you have a big displacement V8 that is sometimes hard to start, you will need more cold cranking amps. Then maybe the Optima for $179 is a better choice.

I removed Motorcraft from the poll (since this battery is primarily a Ford product) but they make batteries for all car makes.
I replaced it with AC Delco so all you OEM OER car guys can vote for it.

I have to go with AC Delco. I use a battery tender and it really extends the life of a batteries. I recently had to change an AC Delco battery that was 13 years old. I'm also the original owner of a 30th anniversary T/A and it is still has the original AC Delco Freedom battery in it. Thats right. 11 years old and still going. Battery tender is the way to go.
