FAIRFIELD INN AND SUITES ROOMS
NOW AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING FOR 2012 SHOW

** I have signed a contract with
the Fairfield Inn and Suites of Malta to be the Official Hotel of the 2012 All
Firebird Lawn Show. I encourage you to
book your room early, since last year the hotel sold out well before the show
and many participants had to book other hotels in the area. I am happy to announce that if you book early
(by March 31, 2012), you will receive a $5.00 discount per night per room. I have also arranged to have more rooms for
our group, but if we do not fill the room block (total rooms allowed) by
5/31/2012, thirty per cent of these rooms will be released to the public, so
please book early. Each individual
reservation has a 3 Day Cancellation Policy, so you can book now and if your
plans change any time up to three days before your reservation, you can cancel
with no penalty. The Cut Off Date to
book your room and get the Firebird Show Rate is June 1, 2012. So if you book by March 31, 2012, you will
receive a $5.00 discount per night per room, and you must book by June 1, 2012
to get the Firebird Show rate. Any
bookings after June 1, 2012 may be accepted if rooms are still available but the
Firebird Show Rate will not be honored.

FNONA CURRENT OFFICERS TO REMAIN
THROUGH 2012 AND 2013

** At the December 2011 FNONA
meeting, in view of the fact that current members volunteered for office, Tom
Smith made a motion that all existing Club Officers maintain their posts through
2013. Keith Tanny seconded the motion and all present voted in favor with no
opposition. Therefore, FNONA will retain
the current officers through 2012 and 2013 to maintain the club business and
shows.

SPEEDWAY WILL HOST THE 2012 ALL FIREBIRD LAWN
SHOW

** As you might have heard, the
Albany-Saratoga Speedway was put up for sale beginning late last year. But the speedway was leased to the owner of
Lebanon Valley Speedway for a two year lease.
On the downside, the track pavement has been torn up and replaced with a
new clay surface so no Cruise to the Speedway for 2012. Management of the racing facility is now under
control of the lessee. Property owner
Bruce Richards will continue to host special events for the summer of 2012 so we
will be back with our Firebird Show next year. The 10th Annual All Firebird Lawn
Show is scheduled for Saturday July 7th, 2012 at Albany-Saratoga Speedway.



2013 ALL FIREBIRD LAWN SHOW WILL
MOVE TO FAIRFIELD INN AND SUITES FOR 2013

** It has taken me three years of
negotiations with the Fairfield Inn and Suites and the management/holding
company that owns the land on which FFI parking lot sits, but I am very proud
and excited to announce that the 11th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show on July 6,
2013 (Rain Date July 7, 2013) will take place on the paved parking lot of the
Fairfield Inn and Suites of Malta, NY.
This has been a goal now for three years and has been suggested by many
of our participants, so I have worked very hard to accomplish this goal. Now it will come to pass in 2013.



2012 ALL FIREBIRD CRUISE TO GO TO
SARATOGA PBA AND
SHOW SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT

** There were a few that
suggested that for our 10th Annual show, I should try to contract the Malta
Drive In for our All Firebird Cruise destination and show Smokey and the
Bandit! I did meet with ownership of the
drive-in in 2011 and they flatly rejected my proposal since they did not want to
give up a ‘big screen’ in the ‘Summer in Saratoga’, the high tourist season, to show ‘an
old B-grade movie’. At the FNONA
December 2011 meeting, as an alternative, it was suggested that we return the
Cruise to the private grove of the Saratoga Springs PBA. We will invite Crazy Herb BBQ and once again
have an FNONA 50-50 raffle. After
everyone orders whatever food and beverage they want from Crazy Herb, we will
show Smokey and the Bandit from a projector inside the PBA and project the movie
to an entire large white wall! Cost of
the Cruise will remain at $10 per carload and include SSPD Police Escort and
Movie.
