I am on OnStar customer and have not seen this yet. I have a question into OnStar now about this policy. I will probably drop them like hot potato and rip out the OnStar system from my car. I'm getting a bit tired of these companies no longer taking our privacy into consideration. I no longer use Google because they track everything when you use their search engine. I won't use their cell phone either.

Thanks for the information.

I do not buy new General Motors cars anymore and I never would use Onstar even if I did.

With built in GPS systems, bluetooth ready devices, handfree phones and low end portable GPS -phone devices there is no need for this service.

I have a voice ready Garmin integrated system for my Volvo company car. I also disconnected XM satellite radio from my company car that I use for my small business operations. The radio is HD so who needs to pay for satellite radio?

I also turned off Geo Tagging and Geo Tracking from from Droid devices so Google does not know where I am.

I never activated OnStar in my Truck. But just to be safe I'm going to disconnect it. Thanks for the info Martin.

I also saw this about the reversal policy.

Last week, we noted that OnStar would continue tracking and logging your travel data even after you cancelled the service. Today, GM — which runs the service — announced it is reversing that policy.
