July 2, 2011 Panera Bread Cruise

Post by 69_RAG_TOP on Sun Jul 03, 2011 10:18 pm

Summer has arrived and it is the Fourth of July weekend. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

The first Panera Cruise last June was pretty good.
This past Saturday was perfect - sunny and warm.

Brad says "Wow, what a night, not one to have been missed. Last night we broke ALL records for any of our previous cruises; we had 190 cars in attendance and we were able to park all in the cruise except for 5 cars that we had to turn away. It was packed, the 50/50 raflle brought in $500.00. It was the best night we have ever had and people loved it; thank you to the few members that helped and came out to handle this event. Great job, see you at the next Panera Bread Cruise."

Some comments we heard "Awesome". "Best Cruise in New England". "Great Place to Talk to Car Guys".

There were quite a few makes and models in attendance including first, second, third and fourth generation Firebirds and Trans Ams. Well over 190 cars showed up at the cruise ... a new Charter Oak Firebird Club record.

The food at Panera included sandwiches, soup, salads, coffee and drinks - it was excellent . The D.J. Brian Skibbo was busy all night playing all the classic oldies music from 5:00 to 8:30 PM....

Ted and I ran the gates. I was AMAZED that as many cars showed up this weekend....

Larry thanks for posting the pictures. Great write up. I really wish I could have been there (or was I). But now that I have my Bird back home for good I will make the rest of this season. I know that Brad really appreciates yours and the other members support. You are one of the few members that understand what it takes to have a Great Cruise. So Thank You.
