Did this stupid bill get passed? It looked like a vote was taken on April 30th. It passed 22-13. I can't find out if it went any further in the process to become law.

A tax on vintage cars based on resale value, not depreciated value will generate millions of dollars for the Connecticut state treasury.

This is a car site and not a political blog, but these state reps will be raising taxes on car collector's automobiles.

So here is my blog. I am a Libertarian. Not a Republican. Not a Democrat.

I do not understand why voters keep voting for Democrats. This Bill has come out of a Democratic committee.

Sen. Martin M. Looney, 11th Dist.
Rep. Patricia A. Dillon, 92nd Dist.
Rep. Auden Grogins, 129th Dist.
Rep. Susan M. Johnson, 49th Dist.
Rep. Jeffrey J. Berger, 73rd Dist.

After all, that 1965 Ford Mustang is really assessed at $25,000, not $500.

Norwich and New London county no longer runs a Republican candidate, just Democrats.

We have two Democratic U.S. Senators, six Democratic U.S. Congressmen, A Democratic Governor, Lt. Governor, State Treasurer, Democratic controlled State House, Democratic controlled State Senate and Democratic controlled Connecticut State Labor Unions.

These legislators will continue to raise taxes to support state programs, entitlements, state agencies, inner city redistribution for city budgets and state workers.

This is tax money that Connecticut never had and wants to get now.
Why stop here. What else can the Democrats find a way to tax?

Perhaps the Democrats can legislate a National Sales Tax of 10% and all the money can go to more spending for these unpopular programs that we can no longer afford.

The additional sales tax and income tax to a family of three earning Connecticut's median household income of $68,294 with a liability of state income tax of $3,114 is estimated at a more realistic $910 increase.

Families need to buy clothes, shoes, appliances and repairs. They pay 6.35% tax, on each item they buy, not just those over $50.

Most items of clothing the family buys are under $50 apiece so the family will be paying an extra $109.54 a year.
The tax on dog grooming adds up to an extra $15.24 a year.

Tax on online purchases from online purchases such as Amazon will be an average of $40.

The budget increases by 20 percent the excise tax on alcoholic beverages. A package of cigarettes will cost 40 cents more as the per-pack tax rises to $3.40.

Diesel fuel tax goes up 3 cents per gallon. All goods are transported by truck and these increased costs will be passed on to consumers.

A new 1.0% conveyance tax on house sales will devastate the now depressed real estate market.

Connecticut is the new California.
