Pioneer Valley GTO Association Show June 5

Post by Steve on Wed Jan 26, 2011 11:44 pm

I would like to suggest this show as a club cruise. Sponsored by the Pioneer Valley GTO Association this show attracts many Firebirds. The Pioneer Valley Firebirds will be sponsoring a best Firebird trophy and the Firebirds will have their own area this year. We usually bring out the $4.5 million dollar Peter Pan Futur Liner for this one too. This is a really fun show and the GTO club members are great people to hang out with. If you like Goats this is a big show with about 100 GTO's I would say.

Sounds good to me. Steve bring it up at the February meeting. If you can't make it I'll bring it up.

Steve I added it to the Calendar.

Thanks for the information.

I believe that Feeding Hills MA is about 70 miles from where Rick and I live.

It would be a drive up Route 2 then to I-91 to the Springfield MA area for us Connecticut Firebird guys.

I've been there two times and both times it was a Great Show .It did rain both times. But I'm still up for it. It would be Fun to have 10 or so Firebirds show at the same time.
So count me in.

It's a great show Larry. I often say when I show up at shows with my car looking imperfect that "I'd rather driver her than wash her." I will usually go the extra mile for Firebird or Pontiac based shows.

I can't wait to get the old girl on the road again. I may pull it out today to get a shot of it with all the snow. I think the white/charcoal tutone will make a cool picture.

So let's make it happen.
As a meeting place I was thanking about some place off exit 49 off US 91. Not sure about a good time. Any suggestions.
Steve I thank you and John should lead the caravan to the show.
Any chance you get to talk to any of our members we need to talk it up. Not only on this site put any place you can. Not that I want to upset the GTO guys. But it would be GREAT to have more Firebirds than GTOs. Just like at the Nutmeg Shows. the more firebirds to more money for the Shriners Childrens Hospital and Relay for Life colon cancer research.

I don't know about outnumbering GTO's because the Pionner Valley GTO Association is huge. I do think it is reasonable to expect 30 to 40 Firebirds at least. I will send out some e-mail blasts and post this on tran-zam.com and pioneervalleyfirebirdassociation.com. There are alot of Firebirds in this area representing potential new members for Charter Oaks or the Pioneer Valley Firebird Association.

The gentlemen who does the PVGTOA web site is also a Firebird owner, a 1981 Nascar TA. Last time I went in 2009 (rain last year) there were 16 Firebirds. You often see some new birds there as well. I think what we should do as a team perhaps is talk up the Saratoga show to the new folks we meet. Most of them that attend this show (and also Firebird night at Mark's) do not go. I will use my big mouth to its fullest extent in trying to help get 200 birds to Saratoga (can you imagine 300 birds?).

A good spot to meet would be off route 91 exit 48 on Elm Street. There is a Dunkin Donuts there, right in the Best Buy Parking lot. It's a short drive to the GTO show from there.
